Mr. Rani

Has anyone seen this movie? It sort of looks like a Bollywood version of Tootsie.

Retro: Bosom Buddies (remake)

This video is from a 4-episode comedy series that involved the stars remaking the opening sequences of a "classic" television show.

Retro: Bosom Buddies

When Cillian Murphy won the Oscar for Oppenheimer, I noted that the talented actor had femulated in multiple films. Tom Hanks, of course, has multiple acting Oscars and began his career in a dress. I'm guessing many young people in the community don't know that.

Here's a peek at the credits:

It seems very difficult to find any more substantial videos of the performance en femme.

Retro: The Odds

From 1993, it's "Heterosexual Man" featuring video appearances from some members of Kids in the Hall. Spoiler: towards the end of the video the entire band femulates.

Here's an image of Dave Foley from the video.

Cillian Murphy

There's a very good chance that Cillian Murphy is going to win Best Actor at this year's Academy Awards for his wonderful performance in Oppenheimer.  He just won the BAFTA.

I assume my readers remember his performance in Breakfast on Pluto:

And in Peacock:

I recommend watching both those other films.

Miss France!

Recently, on Tubi, I watched model Alex Wetter play the lead role in the 2020 film "Miss." Stana blogged about the film in October of 2020, but I had forgotten completely about it. Watch and enjoy!

The main character dreams of becoming Miss France.  Alex is beautiful throughout the film, but I didn't enjoy all the scenes or connect with all the characters.

Here's a classic pic I grabbed from Pinterest that demonstrates this is not the first time Alex Wetter has appeared en femme.

This one provides Audrey Hepburn vibes, I think.

Park's Places

I have not seen the Netflix series "Cowboy Bebop," and know very little about the Japanese anime original, but there is one bit of information worth reporting. Non-binary actor Mason Alexander Park plays a character named Gren.

Park has an active Instagram page that you might want to explore:

Park has also played Hedwig, the emcee in Cabaret, Frank-N-Furter in "Rocky Horror," and the title role in "I am My Own Wife."

Terrific monologues

These are a bit long (around 10 minutes each), but well worth your time. I wonder if River is writing and directing as well as starring in these videos? I expect so.

What a talented performer. The feminine facial details are amazing.

Someone in the biz needs to find work for River.

For some quick full-body looks, watch this video.

Is River on other social media?

All-Male Theatrical Productions

I've been reading about all-male theatrical productions, which often feature the work of William Shakespeare. That's unsurprising as it basically reflects an attempt to produce the Bard's work in a way consistent with its original form.

The Washington, DC, Shakespeare Theatre Company is a prominent center for all-male productions. Here are a few pictures from their recent staging of "Taming of the Shrew."

More Secrets

The Hungarian TV show Sztárban Sztár is yet another version of Your Face Sounds Familiar. As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, it is not always easy to find performances from global editions of this program on youtube. My guess is that this problem is related to copyright. Perhaps the programs make deals to utilize songs, but the deals restrict access in the USA?

For whatever reason, I cannot find the performance of Peter Srámek as a gurl.  They might as well be secret. Luckily, however, pictures are available.

I'm not sure I know this artist, but I believe she is Judit Hernádi

The pics and performance reveal head-to-toe beauty:

Apparently, this is supposed to be an imitation of the leggy Tina Turner:

And this is a femulation of Borbála Péterfy:

I believe young Peter also performed as Boy George and as a member of the Spice Girls.

Separated at birth?

This video is not particularly high quality and I don't know what the people are saying, but it is remarkable nonetheless. Why? Because Bassem Feghali and the woman (Halema Boland) he is femulating stand side-by-side and the impersonation is nearly perfect.

Agreed?

Boland was a fashion model and now hosts a television program on LBC.

Cristina Bugatty

transkabarett 27-11-09

Today, I wish I could understand Italian.

The lovely and talented Cristina Bugatty has been posting some terrific videos to YouTube lately. From what I can tell using Google Translate, Cristina has been famous in Italy for about 10 years. She was originally known as a singer (those linked songs are in English) and was controversially cut from the San Remo Festival back in 2003. The news stories of the time called her a "transsexual," but her YouTube profile is Italia Crossdresser and she has posted in comments "No, I do not live full time as a woman...I enjoy to change identity often :))."  She has also commented, "I studied acting, I'm an actress, or at least I try .... a bit 'as Tootsie .."

If you look around on YouTube, you can find any number of impressive videos featuring Cristina. None, so far as I can tell, are "transformation" videos that show her putting on makeup. Nor does she simply wiggle around in front of a camera once fully clothed (though she has posted this). I'm grateful for her creativity and artistic sense.

For a good example of her work, watch this surprisingly sexy video of her exiting a train station and walking to her car:

Cristina does have the advantage of location. This is her Venice video:

Cristina has been featured frequently as a guest on a television program called "Lilit." and her Facebook photos page includes video from some sort of television series. Spoiler: much of the comedy turns on the fact that she is observed exiting a Men's room.

Finally, this video is a collection of photos from her career.

Note: If you want to watch this interview, but don't speak Italian, check out this transcript.

Separated at birth?

2057-1409c by AliceJapan ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ

This black-and-white photo above pictures the beautiful film actress Eleanor Parker. She was a big star in the 1950s, when she was nominated for three Oscars. You perhaps remember her from "The Sound of Music."

When I saw her face recently, I was reminded of Christina Nicole. They have similar chins, mouths, jawlines and eyebrow archs. Christina almost always wears bangs, however, while it is hard to find a photo of Parker with them. She wore her hair up, apparently. Or the studios made her wear her hair up.

I've featured the lovely Christina previously, but she has not posted any new photos or videos in some time. When I posted in 2009, I said that Christina reminded me of Barbara Eden, a television star from my youth, but I think I like the Eleanor Parker comparison even better. Readers? Click around in the various pics that I've linked and let me know what you think.

One other question. Does anyone recognize the sketch artist or model in that drawing in the third photo above? It's captivating.

Worldwide Fashion

Andres Pejic is the androgenous model of the moment. I previously mentioned these recent struts down the catwalk.

What readers might not have known is that actor Matthias Schweighöfer attended Berlin's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in character, as an actress. Photos here. The film, which Stana mentioned yesterday, is supposed to be out this winter.

On, and speaking of actors, James Blond also has a rival.
