Soy Tu Doble

I've spent too much of my weekend on youtube watching videos of a Mexican television program called "Soy Tu Doble." Some of the portrayals have been exceptional. I may post some additional material at Gossip Gurl if I get a chance.

Cristobal Orellana has been a terrific. Here, the singer is featured in a battle of dueling Miley Cyrus impersonators -- can you tell which one is the gurl?

I'm not a big fan of lip-synching, but this Korean "supergroup" is entertaining:

Putting together the ′pretty boys′ from different groups, Boy’s Day will include BTOB’s Min Hyuk, NU’EST’s Ren, VIXX’s Hong Bin and A-JAX’s Seung Jin. They will be parodying Girl’s Day from head to toe, including hair and make-up, in order to present their own version of Something.

Looks and Sounds Like Amanda Lear

Stana of the terrific blog Femulate followed up my post from last Thursday with a post about the worldwide television program "Your Face Sounds Familiar" (I had misidentified the show with the apparent American name, "Sing Your Face Off").

Stana posted this video as her favorite:




I was curious, and found the original Amanda Lear video for "Enigma (Give a Bit of Mmh to Me)", which reveals that the European pop singer has a very husky voice. Many speculate that she was born male. One of her songs is featured in "Dallas Buyer's Club."

XiaoCan (小灿)

This isn't XiaoCan's best performance I found on youtube, but it is recent and in HD. Mostly, XiaCan dances, but I've seen snippets of her singing and would like to see more. The video portfolio reflects multiple appearances on Chinese talent shows on television.

Her images on-line are astounding.

This is from a Spanish television series "Tu cara me suena," often known around the world as "Sing Your Face Off." Supposedly, ABC is bring a version to the United States.

In addition to this blog, I started The Cover Gurlz blog in July 2007. Six and a half years later, Rupaul presents an album by that name. The performers are apparently the gurlz on this year's Drag Race. Here's the advertisement for the recording:



One of the performers is the lovely Aussie Courtney Act:




Courtney was first featured on The Cover Gurlz in August 2010, but appeared again in May 2011. And of course, I mentioned Courtney's singing talent here at Gossip Gurl in December 2011 -- and provided a swimsuit photo from Flickr in April 2012.

This video is not particularly high quality and I don't know what the people are saying, but it is remarkable nonetheless. Why? Because Bassem Feghali and the woman (Halema Boland) he is femulating stand side-by-side and the impersonation is nearly perfect.

Boland was a fashion model and now hosts a television program on LBC.
